Sue Kim
I create art for the same reason that I consume art: because when I do, the inevitable stresses of living a life melt away, and I feel free.
I am a multi-passionate artist working variously as a visual and mixed media artist, photographer, writer, poet, stage director, choreographer, dramaturg and teacher.
My process is intuitive and exploratory. I observe the world in and around me, then I use my tools to express emotions and illustrate experiences.
I try to live by Mary Oliver’s “Instructions for living a life: Pay attention. Be astonished. Tell about it.” I seek flow and harmony. I am soothed by the healing powers of art and of nature. I appreciate that art can reflect individuality and universality, separately or together. I believe the path to global peace begins with personal peace. When I create art, I find peace.
